The Very Odd Bookclub – March

On Sunday the 29th of March we’ll be getting together at Durty Nelly’s to discuss Suddenly a Knock on the Door by Etgar Keret.

This month’s book is by Israeli author Etgar Keret. It’s a bit of a change from the usual model for the odd book club, in that the book is a collection of short stories rather than a novel. They are some pretty peculiar stories though, and I think the group will enjoy them. A liar whose lies come true, a writer forced to tell stories at gunpoint and a girl who finds a zipper in her lovers mouth and unzips it to reveal a completely different man are just some of the strange places this book will take you. Surreal, absurd and darkly humorous, this is a fun collection and should make for an interesting discussion.
