Meet the Author: Catherynne Valente

You’ll find books by Catherynne Valente all over the store, since not only is she a customer and staff favourite, but she also writes in an array of spec fic sub genres. In addition to the very popular young adult Fairyland series, she’s also written some wonderful folklore and history inspired books as well as weird-fiction and her latest science fiction humour title Space Opera. We’ve also read two of her books for our book club, Radiance and Deathless. Recently I learned that she’s visiting Perth in March, and while here she’ll be paying us a visit at the store to talk about her books and hang out with fans. I know how many of her books we’ve sold, so I know there are a bunch of you!

The event will be on Saturday the 14^th of March and we’ll be starting in the store from 11am with a signing, reading and a short Q and A with Catherynne. We’ll be making sure we’ve got plenty of Catherynne‘s books available if you’d like to fill out your collection, but you can bring you own books too if you’d like her to sign them.

At about midday-ish we’ll be wandering over to The Generous Squire for lunch, or just drinks and a chat. We’re expecting to wind up around 1.30 – 2.00. Please remember that as The Generous Squire is a licensed venue anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
