Pokemon
Deluxe Character Guide
Release Date: Late Aug
Stefen Says: 2026
is the 30th anniversary of the original Pokémon
and the 10th anniversary of Pokémon
Go. This book is a celebration of the anniversary through a
beautifully presented guide to the history, development and iconic creatures of
a world that millions have come to love. It’s a large format, gold edged
hardcover that is sure to delight any Pokémon
fan. You’d expect a book like this to be printed in huge numbers, but that
isn’t the case. Quantities for the Australian market were quite limited, and
while we have a healthy number of copies I don’t expect them to last very long.
If you have a Pokémon
fan on your Christmas list, this is something to get early because I seriously
doubt we’ll have any copies left come the end of the year.
From the Publisher: Immerse
yourself in a comprehensive, 336-page guide on Pokémon characters – filled with
celebrated history, memorable moments and facts on the iconic brand.
The Pokémon Deluxe
Character Guide encompasses animation, video games, the Pokémon Trading Card
Game (TCG), and much more! Learn details and discover facts about over 1,000 Pokémon – with
notable featured Pokémon
highlighted along the way.
Organized by region, this guide is in Pokédex order. Journey from Kanto to
Paldea and beyond to find information on every Pokémon discovered, beginning with
Bulbasaur (#0001) and ending with Pecharunt (#1025)! Finish off at the end of
the Character Guide with a special chapter featuring Legendary and Mythical
Pokémon! Foreword written by President and CEO of The Pokémon Company Tsunekazu
Ishihara.

The
Last Human in a Crowded Galaxy by Zack Jordan
& Luyi Bennett
Release Date: Late Aug
Stefen Says: A
few years ago I made a tremendous fuss about Zack Jordan‘s book, The Last Human. It’s
a wonderfully quirky science fiction story about a galaxy full of aliens and
one solitary human girl trying to find out what happened to the rest of
humanity. As a side project Zack
Jordan also produced a web comic based on the same story. This
is the graphic novel version of that web comic and it’s just as much fun and
just as charming as the original novel. A great little read whether or not
you’ve read the source material.
From the Publisher: Seven-year-old
Sarya is the galaxy’s worst nightmare: a Human. Fortunately, she’s the last of
her kind.
Based on the critically-acclaimed novel The
Last Human, The
Last Human in a Crowded Galaxy is a whimsical and endearing
space opera graphic novel about identity, free will, and found family.
Sarya the Daughter doesn’t know she’s a Human, and that’s better for everyone.
Just ask her adoptive mother, the terrifying spider-like alien known as Shenya
the Widow. Or don’t, because Shenya the Widow would do anything to keep her
adopted daughter’s identity a secret. That’s why they’ve come to Watertower,
the notoriously low-security border station at the edge of the galaxy-spanning
Galactic Network.
But Humans are curious beings, and Sarya is no exception. When she sets out on
a quest to find out what she is, she triggers a station-wide security crisis.
Now hunted by a powerful Network Auditor and the equally formidable Shenya the
Widow, it’s only a matter of time until a crisis becomes a disaster.

The
Art of Wo Lung: Fallen Dynasty
Release Date: Mid Aug
Stefen Says: I
can’t say I’m familiar with the Wo
Lung Fallen Dynasty game, but I’ve fallen into the habit of
grabbing a few copies of just about every pretty looking game design book that
I come across. However, since I’m not really sure just how many fans of the
game we have as customers I’ve only ordered a few.
From the Publisher:
The Art of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty unleashes the striking
visual world behind Team NINJA’s dark fantasy epic, featuring explosive
character and creature designs, brutal weapons and armour, and deep lore from a
demon-ravaged Three Kingdoms China.
“Set in 184 AD, China, Wo
Long: Fallen Dynasty is a dramatic, action-packed story of a
nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the
later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. Players fight off
deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese
martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from
within. The Art of Wo
Long: Fallen Dynasty collects the fantastic visuals behind this
dark fantasy action RPG from Team NINJA. Included are character and creature
designs, weapon and armour concepts, detailed character profiles, world lore,
and more!”
